PERSONAL PROFILE

Get To Know Me

An aspiring researcher and lifelong learner with a love for cooking, reading, and drinking lots of coffee. My curiosity drives me both in the lab and in life, where I’m always looking for my next hobby or creative pursuit.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time in my garden, and taking on DIY projects with my partner. Growing up in the Willamette Valley, I developed a deep appreciation for nature, which has shaped my academic journey and inspired me to pursue a career in crop science with a focus on entomology and plant pathology.

Outside of my academic interests, I love connecting with others, discovering new ideas, and finding joy in everyday moments - whether it’s perfecting a recipe, starting a new book, or enjoying a walk with my husband and dog.

As a first-generation college student, I take pride in setting an example for my younger relatives, showing that with determination and passion, any dream is possible.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

March 2023 - December 2025

Lab Technition
OSU Student Employee

As a Student Research Assistant with the USDA through Oregon State University, I supported research projects focused on agricultural sustainability and plant health. My role involved conducting laboratory experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and assisting with the cultivation and maintenance of plant specimens. I worked closely with a multidisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in sterile techniques, fungal and nematode pathogen isolation, and plant disease diagnostics.

February 2019 - September 2021

SERVICE WRITER, K & M AUTO SERVICE

I advised customers with their regular vehicle maintenance, general sales, and major decisions about their vehicle. When interacting with a customer we focus on breaking down the anxiety that surrounds the customer-industry relationship. We want to cultivate a lasting client relationship whether it's the family car, or a fleet service. That relationship is often that what results in a return customer, and mutually beneficial relationship.
In this position I was not only making sales, but also coordinated with the mechanics and their assistants about job status, required materials, and various other intricacies of running a shop. The management of the shops workflow ultimately determines the amount of vehicles we could service in a given week.

April 2016 - November 2018

FRONT OFFICE ASSISTANT, NORTH LAKE PHYSICAL THERAPY

My job starts with greeting patients as they walk in the door and ends with me scheduling their future visits. Between those two events I handle phone calls, answer insurance questions, input patient information, and contact new potential patients. My job is as fun and fulfilling as much as it is challenging- every person who walks through those doors is having a different day and its my job to show them that going to physical therapy is not a chore.
In this position I was brought on to facilitate the transition to a primarily paperless record system- and was kept on as a part time team member when that was completed. My responsibilities were varied, but my major task was the monitoring of our medicare patients funds and notifying both the patient and the therapist about the remaining balance, and projected number of visits.

January 2015 - April 2016

FRONT OFFICE ASSISTANT, KARI MITCHELL ACCOUNTING

This job taught me how to multitask, develop client relationships, and efficiently manage my time and resources. I was tasked with inputting preliminary information about clients at check in, scheduling, maintaining the workplace, and assisting with any staff needs. Additionally, we put a strong emphasis on the client experience in the office, so being the first point of contact we would set the tone for the meetings. We stove to go above and beyond for our clients to make the experience less stressful and a generally positive event.
Working in the office after entailed the tracking of multiple projects, the application of new policies as needed, and maintaining the general workflow throughout the office.

INTRAPERSONAL RELATIONS

I'm a people person!

Due to a plethora of experiences that involve leadership development, sales, team development, and conflict resolution. Most importantly, I enjoy developing both team and client connections.

SALES

Productive with a focus in customer connections.

In my time at K & M Auto I was able to develop my sales skills. The most important skills, in my mind, was being able to develop a positive connection with the customer while making the sale. By doing this I would be able to make larger, and more, sales later with the same customer through the trust that comes with a relationship. I found that the best method is to be honest, do the best I can for the client, and to always remember that they are another person who can appreciate being treated as such.

EVENT PLANNING & GROUP LEADERSHIP

An Expert

Through scouting I was given plenty of opportunities to practice these skills. While I was in the program I came into many leadership positions that enabled me to plan and manage a variety of events that included adventure expeditions, campouts, fundraisers, and educational events. I have continued using these skills in both a personal and professional fashion. Since my days in scouting I have been able to improve and maintain systems of teamwork in various ways.

MICROSOFT WORD, EXCEL, AND POWERPOINT

A Valuable Skill Set

I have had formal education on how to efficiently use these programs and have developed the skills I was taught further by using these programs outside of the classroom.

EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

2010-2014

OREGON CITY HIGH SCHOOL

I received a Advanced Diploma from OCHS. This diploma requires at least 2 advanced classes a term from sophomore to senior year, 3 years of a foreign language, and a minimal GPA of 3.5

2014

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

At age 17 I achieved the rank of Eagle. This is the highest award within scouting. Only ~6% of Scouters earn this rank and I'm proud to say that I achieved it. The program have proved to be very useful in my personal and professional lives respectively.

2014-2020

CLACKAMAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Oregon Associate Transfer Degree - 2020
It took a long time to figure out what I wanted to do with myself. This experience has given me a deep appreciation of community college, and think they are a wonderful place for self discovery. Thanks to the affordability of CCC I was able find my niche and plan how I would achieve my goals.

September 2021 - Present

OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY

I am currently a full time student pursuing a masters degree in crop science with a focus in entomology. Once achieved I plan of continuing onto to receive a doctorate in the same field; I would like to focus my research on integrated resistance management.
