MY DOG

PATIO GARDEN SPACE

My I wanted to utilize the space we had on our patio We decided to create planters, build an automated watering system, and plant a culinary garden.
I enlisted the help of a family friend, and my father to design and built the planters I needed. From there my partner, mother, and myself put the finishing touches on the planters. Once the boxes were done the real research started; I had to calculate the amount of soil I needed to buy, the type needed for such conditions, and the type of plants I could grow and harvest successfully.
Once springtime hit the race was on to get the soil, plants, and watering system ready for the year. The soil and plants were easy compared the the building of the drip irrigation system. Having no water hookup on the patio I had to research the type of pumps I would need, figure out how much water would be needed, and how to use it effectively.
Now, in April 2021 I have multiple herbs (thyme, rosemary, tarragon, mint, and lavender), and a few select produce growing (jalapeño, onion, garlic, potatoes, and carrots.)

HIKING

While I haven't been able to hike as much as I would like, but hiking is one of my favorite activities. Being in the Pacific North West we have such fantastic access to hiking trails on the coast, the gorge, and the mountains its hard to find a bad place to go.

MY DOG

This is my crazy, excitable, and curious pup Fennel. She came to the US from a nonprofit based in Mexico called Los Adoptables. They got her via a local veterinarian that had her brought in from a broken leg as a puppy. Since her original family didn't have the resources to take care of her the option was to euthanize her, or put her up for adoption.
I found her through a friend that had gotten their dog from Los Adoptables- this resulted in myself and friend going down to San Diego to pick her up and come back to Portland.
Since getting her we have faced plenty of challenges new dog owners often face. We have invested plenty of time and money into professional training and have started to reap the benefits of such an investment. We have a dog that is sweet, goofy, and well behaved.
